• My site is dynamiclens. I have been running an older version and noticed that the site was a bit sluggish. I needed to update anyway, so I did. No problems. I’m now running 3.5.1 and my site runs smoothly. If you’re a visitor.

But if you’re an admin and want to do ANYTHING with the dashboard, it’s slow as dirt. Posts, for example. I can view my list of posts and it takes it a few moments, but eventually loads them all (there’s like eleven of them). But if I click on any of them to actually try and edit them, WordPress takes me to the edit page, but never actually loads anything into the edit window itself. It just gets stuck eternally loading it, and never actually shows anything.

Or editing a page. Same thing. When I choose to edit a page, WordPress gets stuck loading the page contents into the editor.

This is happens on Chrome and Firefox, from different IP addresses and physical locations. It happened before updating to 3.5.1, and it’s still happening. It basically renders me unable to update my site.

  • Check if you have the issues with:
    – the default theme (like Twenty Twelve)
    – the default theme and with the plugins off

Yes, it’s bad all around, but it only seems to be bad from my home location. If accessed from my work location, things are fine. My internet connection at home is fine otherwise, it’s really on WordPress that things hang up.

Can you edit posts, upload images, deactivate plugins, logout and login from your work location?

Yes I can do all that from my work location. I can’t tell any difference in permissions or accessibility.

If so, the problem seems to be with your local connection/ISP, your browser, or your machine. You need to locate it/ talk to your ISP.

I’ll contact my ISP. But to be clear, no other sites seem to be affected. I can navigate the rest of the web just fine on my local home connection. Just not my own WP site. For that, I have to use a different physical location. I wish I had some direction to go in, because calling Comcast support…ugh… just shoot me now.
