• I have one WP site [#1] that exits to the site’s home page when I leave the WP Dashboard. I like that behavior.

I have several other sites that exit the WP dashboard to the /wp-admin page, and I would like to change them to exit to the home page.

I do not know what I set in [#1] make it behave like that. I opened two dashboards side-by-side and went through the likely places for the setting: Dashboard, Themes, Plugins, My own User profile + user profiles in general, and each of the Settings (General, Writing, Reading, Discussion, Media, Permalinks). I found no differences that seemed to apply to my exit landing page.

The obvious Google and WP Support searches didn’t help me, either: “Exit wp dashboard landing page” offers a lot of interesting results and does provide me with interesting reading in the future.

Question: Where is the setting that defines a landing page when I leave the WP admin dashboard?

  • Did you check if all the active plugins are the same?

There are a few plugins that can enable this feature.

I don’t believe it’s one of the plugins. These are the ones that are active:
    — Contact Form 7
    — Contact Form by BestWebSoft (and its reCAPTCHA)
    — Loginizer Secuity (I’ve checked settings)
    — Participants database
    — Theme File duplicator
    — Ultimate Member
    — Weaver Show Posts
    — Weaver Xtreme Theme support
    — Wordfence Security
    — WP Edit
