Dashboard – Exclude Post Category?

I run a site that includes general blog posts as well as event listings. The event listings are posts as well, in their own category called “Events”. When I go to the “Posts” section on my Dashboard, I see a ton of posts because all of my events are listed there, too. I know that there is a dropdown above the posts allowing you to choose which Category to view – but is there a plugin or anything of that nature that will allow me to EXCLUDE a category? The same kind of idea as the “View Posts In This Category” dropdown, but the opposite function.
