dashboard drop-down menus are broken

  • I can’t get any of the drop-down menus in Dashboard to work when I click on them. Have tried a couple of different browsers and the results are the same. When I click on ‘screen options’ nothing happens, ‘help’ doesnt work, the drop-downs on Posts, Links, Pages, etc do not work.

    From anywhere else in WordPress these al;l work ok, its just the Dashboard page they’re broken.

    Can anyone suggest a fix?

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress?

    – increasing the memory available to PHP?
