Dashboard didn’t update!

  • I just updated my wordpress.com site to a self hosted www.remarpro.com site. During the switch I wanted to get the latest version of wordpress as well. I checked to see if I needed any upgrades and it said I am fully upgraded, but dashboard still looks exactly the same.

    Any suggestions for how I can get the newest dashboard?

    Make sure you uploaded all the files in the wp-admin directory and wp-includes directories. Simply “overwriting” them often does not work, delete them and upload them fresh.

    Yes, everybody makes that mistake.

    Overwriting them actually will work, if you actually overwrote them. However, many FTP clients seem to not do this properly or something. It happens so often that we basically just tell people to not even try anymore.
