Dashboard/Backend access as member

Hi,
in my opinion, since last update of Simple WordPress Membership, members are no longer allowed to access the WP backend regardless of what roles are granted additionaly. Am I true and is there a way to grant backend access again?
I have to manage members that are also act as editors or admins (I created a role with unlimited access with User Role Editor plugin and grant this role to a member as a further role).
If there is no other way, I would ‘hack’ your plugin: would you be so kind to tell me where (in which unit) the check is done?
