• Hello All,
I am just wondering if there is a daily/weekly digest plugin that will allow users to subscribe via a widget and send daily/weekly digests of the site(including custom post types) to a user?

Please note the daily/weekly setting has to be set on a per user level and not a global site level.

    Thanks

  • That’s usually something configured through your email subscription platform that will then feed off of your RSS feed. For example, MailChimp offers a “RSS Email Delivery Schedule” option that allows you to decide how often the digest is compiled and sent. There isn’t a plugin that will use the servers mail system to do this?

Not that I’m aware of, but there are 32,000+ plugins in the WordPress plugin depository. So, try entering different search conditions to see what comes up.

    That said:
    1) How would you manage the subscription/subscription process without a an external mail system, especially with the ever tightening rules governing spam? Systems like AWeber and MailChimp are designed to deal with such issues.
    2) If you have a thousand subscribers and your host’s mail system tries to generate a thousand emails at the same time for delivery, will your host’s mail system support that? Most won’t and will kill your mail routing as a possible spambot. So, that’s a discussion you will want to clarify with your host if you do find such a plugin that allows you to use your host’s mail system.
