I have my site setup to schedule a standard scan every day however it doesn’t work. Scans are successful when I start one manually, but they just wont run automatically.

I have checked “Start all scans remotely” in diagnostics but it still doesn’t work. The only issue I can see is in ‘Connectivity > Connecting back to the site’ which says this (URL redacted):

wp_remote_post() test back to this server failed! Response was: cURL error 7: Failed to connect to [–url–] port 443: Connection refused

Our IT technician has looked into it but can’t see what the issue is.

Hi @kerrydesigner, thanks for your detailed query on this issue.

If you are running the free version of Wordfence, the scans are run on 3-day intervals rather than daily, but the fact that there is a reported cURL error back to your site is worth investigating.

I would like to have a look at your Wordfence diagnostics report.

Please go to the top of the “Diagnostics” tab on the Wordfence “Tools” page. There will be a “SEND REPORT BY EMAIL” button to send the diagnostics report. Enter wftest [at] wordfence [dot] com as the email and @kerrydesigner as the forum username please.

Once you have emailed me the diagnostics report can you reply here to let me know that it has been sent. This is important in the unlikely event that your installation of WordPress is having an issue with sending mail.

    Thanks,

    Peter.
