Daily Digest, summary email

    I was wondering if there is a plugin or a setting so that an email doesn’t go out every post. But instead, pick a time in the day and it send out a single summary email of the latest posts. We have multiple contributors and they post multiple a day on different topics and don’t want people to unsubscribe because of too many subscriber emails. We just want it to send out one email a day with a nice clean summary of the daily posts and they can click on the few in the email to view them then browse the rest.

    Anything like that available or will I need to do some serious hacking in the code to get that to work? Using Tempura template.

    Thanks for any thoughts on this.

    By any chance, are you using Jetpack on your site? If so, folks who subscribe via Jetpack’s Subscription module are allowed to edit their own delivery settings to choose either instant emails or daily (and even weekly) digests.

    Yeah I am using JetPacK and I looked through many of the activated settings. Apparently I am missing something. Do you know offhand if there is a plugin within JetPack that lets me do what I am asking? Currently I have Sharing, Enhanced Distribution, Subscriptions enabled and none of these seem to have any settings I see to more advanced stuff like I want.

    Please advise if you know where I need to look. Thank you for taking the time to respond.

    Jetpack does, but the option to receive instant, daily, or weekly emails is up to the *subscriber* in their subscription settings. It’s not something you can set for them.

    So, if the subscriber wants to receive daily or weekly digests instead of instant emails, they can set that themselves.
