Dabbler.ca – Brightcove meets WordPress

After about a month of work the new Dabbler.ca is finally up and running. The site features a massive Brightcove video player on the top of the index page that disappears when you go to single pages, a Google custom search bar in the header that takes you to a results page within the site layout, Flash video exclusion from the index page and a bunch of other small hacks.

The design contains elements from the GlamourYellowRed theme by AskGraphics and the Sleepy Blue theme by Eyoung along with piles and piles of custom code and modifications by yours truly.

The overall CSS layout was done using Microsoft Expression Web – probably the best CSS authoring tool out there.

There are still some kinks that need to be sorted out and I still have to update the 85 videos currently on the site in single mode to Brightcove but I think for the most part it’s ready to face the world.

Please take a look, click around, ask questions and tell me if somethings amiss or not working properly. I’d really appreciate some feedback other than “it looks great” (although flattery never hurt anyone)
