    Hi there,
Great plugin first of all! ??
Current challenge: I am working on a site which will be translated into czech. When choosing “czech” as language (in network admin > sites > site > MultilingualPress) I get a wrong flag, the WPLANG (in settings) says “cs_CS”, and for the other related sites this czech site is also displayed with the extension “cs”. A typo somewhere in your code? (note: I checked your folder with flags, and the correct one (cz.gif) is there).
Thanks in advance for your help!

  • Hi,

thanks for the report. The language tag is correct, cs is the ISO 639-1 code for Czech, cs-CZ the code for Czech spoken in the Czech Republic. CZ is a subtag, not a main tag.

For the moment you can set the flag for the Czech Republic in the custom flag setting in the tab MultilingualPress for the Czech site.

Keep in mind that flags will never match languages exactly, because they stand for countries, not for languages. I could use the Czech Republic flag to mark the German language, because German is one of the official languages there. ??
Avoid this confusion whenever possible. Do not use flags for languages.

We cannot change existing file names, because that would break backwards compatibility.
