• I just found out that Cyprus, which partially member of the EU since 1st of may 2004, is not listed under the Zone regions in the shipping zone even though I checked it as “Sell to specific countries” under the General tab.

    Hi @creaktor ,

Thanks for pointing this out! To include Cyprus in your Europe shipping zone, you can manually add it by going to WooCommerce → Settings → Shipping → Shipping Zones. Click on the zone you’ve created for Europe and select “Add region.” Type in ‘Cyprus’ and save your changes. This should solve the issue.

For reference here’s our support document for setting up shipping zones: https://woocommerce.com/document/setting-up-shipping-zones/

    Hope this helps!

Hi @creaktor, we haven’t heard from you in a while, so I’ll close this thread.

To add, WooCommerce adopted UNICODE CLDR standard for adding countries and regions. There’s a bit of history and context around this in the WooCommerce GitHub. It’s also possible to modify how countries and states/provinces are listed on your site via this code snippet.

If you need help with anything else, please feel free to start a new thread.

@reynierc thank you. I see. It was listed under Asia. Half of Cyprus is EU.

@eastofwest thank you. I will look into it if there is a need for using that snippet. I presume manually adding it where it is listed under Asia is fine.

Oh! I get it now. I just learned that, geographically, it’s part of West Asia, but culturally, it’s seen as a European country. What my colleague mentioned explains why you see it listed under Asia.

I presume manually adding it where it is listed under Asia is fine.

If Cyprus is listed under Asia in your settings, you can manually change its region to Europe if that’s where you wish to include it for shipping and use the code snippet to modify states.

    Hope this helps!
