    Hello,

Please tell me do you have any plans to enable support for cwebp encoder like this plugin did? This plugin has a bug that prevents it from working with images that have non-latin symbols in their names.

I use Dreamhost as my hosting provider and they said that there is no the GD or Imagick for the latest PHP version they use. At the same time their cwebp encoder works as it should.

    Hi @alexfeel,

    Thank you for your message.

At the moment I do not plan to add support for another converter. I would like to use the libraries available in PHP. I want the plugin to be compact.

Using the cwebp library means placing the library files in the plug-in for each system and testing it on each environment separately. I don’t want to overload the plug. Additionally, I would like to double-check every functionality to ensure it works perfectly.

    I think you understand me.

It is very strange that your hosting does not support these libraries, even though they have been around for many years. WebP for GD has been available in PHP since version 5.4.
