I’m not sure how to present the code so that it sohws exactly as it does on my page – but hopefully someone will be able to help me on this anyway

Have you read this from the Cutliine “Tubetorial” pages?

Scroll down to “Change The Header Navigation Links To Display Your Pages”.

    That should help.

Hi Rosie – Thank you for your reply, much appreciated.

I did not find this one, but I think tried most.

I have done what this says, except for this section:

“If you don’t see a page titled Archives in your page manager, write a new page, called Archives, chose the Archives template for this page and use archives as post slug Template and Post Slug can be found in the sidebar of your admin panel).”

I am using version 2.5 and have the standard admin panels and cannot see where to enter the “Post Slug” on this page – please help.

My blog is – in business

Hum, those instructions are for 2.3. I guess 2.5 doesn’t call it a slug anymore. It’s part of the permalink editing screen. Oy, soon I’ll be an old lady, muttering in my rocking chair about slugs and the like…

On the “write screen” of the page, look under the title (just above the little edit buttons for bolding, italic, etc.). Do you see the word “Permalink”?

Click on the “edit” link and a window pops up that lets you change what used to be called the “slug.” Type in “archives” and save it. That should work!

Ji again Rosie – thank you for your reply and for trying to help. Your post helped me to find this link version 2.5 slugs. I used this to check the slug that had been allocated and this is “archives” and yet this still does not work – this is really frustrating.

Perhaps I should just get a cardigan myself and sit in a rocking chair with some slippers on myself!!!

I really like this theme, as I have just got some new pictures to go with it, so would really like to get it working.

    Thank you, Russell

Both of us in rocking chairs… but this game isn’t over yet! Okay, I think I’ve figured this out.

Have you set your permalinks so they’ll be “pretty permalinks“? I’m thinking the Archives page will work until you do that.

See more on this (specifically tailored to Cutline) here.

Hi Rosie – thank you for your reply – I have started to look at this and got a bit confused – this is a bit of an upward learning curve for me! That rocking chair looms I fear!

I will feed back to you when I have looked a bit further and whether I resolve this with your further suggestions, and thank you for your patience with me.

    Russell

Er, I meant, I think your Archives page WON’T work until you set your permalinks to “Pretty permalinks.”

    Sorry for the confusion.

Hi Rosie – many thanks for your help – I did it by using option 2 on this page Why Don’t My “Archives” and “About” Links Work?

My links to Archive and about and sitemap all work and I now know how to add more links to this theme!

I will now put the rocking chair to one side and start to RAP instead!!!!

***** Thank you to Rosie – you are a star *******
