• Guys i need your help to optimize my load times. My site is https://www.booktips.in
If you run a pingdom test on this site you’ll notice that that simple adf.ly banner ad takes a lot of requests and increases the load time very much compared to all other things in my site. Can i make it like a static picture which when clicked will redirect to my affiliate link. Will that solve that issue? Will it reduce the number of http requests?

  • it woul ddefinately cut down on requests, and probably on loading times, but you’d need to try it for yourself and see how it goes. The only thing that you’;; have to take into account is that you’ll most likely loose some tracking of add impressions as three’ll be no way for the platform to tell.

One thing that I have done with my sites that has made a huge difference is getting a CDN and involved.

This is a content delivery system that allows your images, pictures, media files, to load much much quicker.

The company that I would recommend is MaxCDN.com

Their service is extremely reasonable and their customer service is excellent

Also you will always want to try to use the least amount of plug-ins as possible.

Thanks for your reply. So you’re saying its worth a try if i’m ready to loose the tracking abilities? Is there no way around? By the way i am using the Adrotate plugin to help me!

I am currently using a free CDN Cloudflare.Yes i know of MaxCDN but what i found that the paid packages are not just my fit. First i’m from a middle class family from India, so for me even getting a domain and a paid hosting account was a battle. And as i am a student i don’t think it would be a good part on myself to pesture my parents for money on this issue as it gets a bit costly when converted to a Indian currency.

And this site is currently just my passion not a income generating source or something like that. SO i would like to optimize it to y best part without relying on paid services!

I also noticed that my current site load speed aren’t too high either. And my current CDN is doing ok.SO even if i sign up with max cdn i may not be able to see a very drastic improvement in speed whatsoever!
