I’ve just returned to web design after several weeks of being involved with other things and have had to start afresh with WordPress…..

Apologies I am a total newbie with WordPress….

PS: I took a look at my previous post and don’t think part of my question got answered, or at least if it did, I must have missed something…

The question being: How do you update the child theme without losing all the pages and code?

A child theme doesn’t need to be updated – it inherits updates via the parent theme. So long as you did not modify parent theme files, you should be fine. But it’s always a good idea to backup your site before updating.
