• Hi,

I have chosen Customizr for my theme as I used it on another project. This one required some additional theming and I used Elementor Pro.

Yesterday I learned that there is a conflict between Elementor Pro and Customizr. I found that comments WOULD show in themes like Twenty Nineteen, Twenty Twenty. Twenty Twenty-One, Purse, and Freedom. But not in Customizr with the Elementor Pro plugin enabled. If I disabled PRO, they would show up.

I’ve already spent a lot of time building up the site on the Customizer theme (which I heard worked with Elementor). So I don’t want to switch themes. But I also have a bunch of elements I used Elementor Pro to build.

I’ve looked in support threads and I cannot seem to find this exact issue.

All needed plug-ins and the theme are updated to the very latest version. I have already opened a support ticket with Elementor, but they suggested I reach out to the theme-maker as well.

An example page I am having this issue with is:

I might add that the Comment BOX shows up. Even the header saying something like:
    3 thoughts on “** Article Name **”
However, the comments themselves do not show.

    Thanks for reporting the problem.
Something must be conflicting in this template :
    https://github.com/presscustomizr/customizr/blob/dev/templates/parts/content/singular/comments/comment_list.php.

I can’t test and fix the problem locally because I don’t have Elementor Pro.

Maybe @kingyes or @jzaltzberg can help on this : what do you propose for theme authors to test compatibility with Elementor Pro? A special program ?
Contact me via this form so that I can explore the problem and find a solution.

Sent info via the contact form and updated Elementor to let them know you are interested in resolving the issue. They really should get you a developer copy of Pro since both Customizr and Elementor are widely used.

    Hi Nicolas (@nikeo),

Unfortunately the folks at Elementor have not been very helpful to me directly. They suggest YOU open a support ticket on their github page:
    https://github.com/login?return_to=https%3A%2F%2Fgithub.com%2Felementor%2Felementor%2Fissues%2Fnew%2Fchoose

I will ask them if they can get you a license to PRO to help resolve this issue.

    Thanks again!

    Jerry

    Hi Jerry,

    Thank you for the update.

I could access the WordPress Dashboard and tested changing the theme in a staging environment. Indeed, some incompatibility with the theme is causing the comments not to be shown.

In this case, as per our support policy and as we have no control over any third-party coding, through the Technical Support channel, issues related to compatibilities will not be handled. The developers of the theme should open an issue on our Github page where our developers will be happy to collaborate directly with them.

In case you need further assistance, please let me know.

    Best Regards,

    Elementor Technical Support

    Hi Nicolas (@nikeo),

I found out that you can test the Elementor PRO plug-in on localhost without a license. Additionally, I can make a testing environment available to you if you would like to solve this issue.

    Thank you,

    Jerry
