Customizr Slider Creation Issue
-
Hello,
I am a new wordpress user. I am running the Customizr theme in WP 3.6. I am unable to create sliders at all. To the best of my knowledge, I have followed the instructions found here:
https://www.themesandco.com/customizr/
and here:
https://www.themesandco.com/creating-a-slider-with-the-customizr-wordpress-theme/
The problem is that when I go to edit an image, no options are visible for adding a slider. I see the “switch” to turn sliders on on a page, then I get an error saying I haven’t created one yet, and I should go to the media library to do so. Once there, there, I choose an image, click on edit, and the page displayed contains no switch or options box. I hope the issue is that I’ve missed something obvious. Please advise.
PLEASE NOTE: I was already advised to look for the “slider options” box at the bottom of the edit page for any image. It does not appear.

Here’s the code, if that helps. Anything missing? Found under admin dashboard>Appearance>Aditor>class-header-slider.php :

When you upload an image there should be a button that says add to slider. Above the button that says no but that you can click to say yes there is verbiage that says “Add to a slider (create one if needed)” If you click on “create one if needed” you will get a bunch of items to complete. The last one in the list will be add slider. This is where you will name your slider and create. You will still need to add the particular slider to whatever website page you’d like. You can add to your home page through the customizr dashboard. Hope that helps.
Thanks for the response. Whenever I upload images, there were no additional options present, and quite often I would get an “html error” message once the upload was complete. I suspect there are compatibility issues with my host. Regardless, it started working spontaneously tonight. There is now a slider option box at the bottom of each image (on the edit image page).
This happened after I took the default slider code and modified it to present my own images and links. I’m not saying the events are related, but it’s odd that I tweaked the default slider code and then the slider options suddenly appear. Here’s an example of the changes I made to the “class-header-slider.php” file:
Old Code
<img width="1200" height="500" src="<?php echo TC_BASE_URL ?>inc/img/phare.jpg" class="slide wp-post-image" alt="<?php _e( 'Customizr is a clean responsive theme' , 'customizr' ) ?>"> </div> <div class="carousel-caption"> <h1><?php _e( 'Customizr is a clean responsive theme' , 'customizr' ) ?></h1> <p class="lead"><?php _e( 'Let your creativity speak and easily customiz\'it the way you want!' , 'customizr' ) ?></p> <a class="btn btn-large btn-primary" href="<?php echo $admin_link; ?>"><?php _e( 'Learn more' , 'customizr' ) ?></a>
New code
<img width="1000" height="667" src="<?php echo TC_BASE_URL ?>inc/img/BG12.jpg" class="slide wp-post-image" alt="<?php _e( 'Style your WordPress site live!' , 'customizr' ) ?>"> </div> <div class="carousel-caption"> <h1><?php _e( 'News, Announcements, and Events' , 'customizr' ) ?></h1> <p class="lead"><?php _e( 'New Projects, New Gear, and and Live Events You Don
t Want To Miss!’ , ‘customizr’ ) ?></p>
<?php _e( ‘Go!’ , ‘customizr’ ) ?>`Anyway, not sure if the changes I made triggered something else, or if it is just random. But it works now, and that’s all I care about.
You don’t need code to add a slider. This video explains how to do it.
I appreciate you are trying to help, but as I pointed out in my original post, I followed the instructions found both in the video and in the help file. The slider options box did not appear. It wasn’t until after I had tweaked the code that the options box appeared on any given “edit image” page.
The video is only helpful if the theme is working properly with your installation of wordpress. I have not found the cause of the issue, possibly a compatibility issue with my host, but as the problem has since gone away, I call this issue resolved.
