• I’ve noticed that WooCommerce normally works as a one page checkout system, but I’d like to know if it’s suitable to customise it as a two page checkout system instead? I’ve got an idea that once a customer completes the form, they click on “Proceed to Checkout”, which directs the user to a new page so they can enter their credit card details. If they click on a submit button, they’ll get a confirmation message.

I’m just wanting to know if it’s worth doing this by customising the WooCommerce plugin in my child theme folder, or follow an alternative plugin e.g. YITH Woocommerce multi-step checkout. If so I can simply do the former, does anyone know a good tutorial or guide to test what I want to do?

    Thanks.

This is pretty complex to do right now. I will warn you, we’re going to be re-doing the checkout later in the year to make this more flexible, so any custom solutions you code may need an update when that happens.

Thanks for the reply again, Mike.

What about other websites who have used Woocommerce for their checkout information? I realise it may be too soon to know what the complications could be specifically, but are there any issues and complications that store owners should be aware of?

Nothing to announce yet. We’ll post full details on our dev blog when we have something to share.
