Customizing Static Home Page

I’d like to make the following changes to my home page. Is there code I can add to “Edit CSS”?

Can the white header bar be made shorter so more of my feature photograph can show?
To create space for this to happen, can my name be moved from under the logo to just to the right of the logo?
Can the header bar be made a little transparent so it’s not solid white?
Can I change the font for my name to match the font already used in the tagline?
Can I change the color of the font for my name?
Can I change the size of the font for my name?
I can hide the “Home” button in the Home page menu?
Can I make the down arrow (“more to read” indicator) in the tagline bigger or bolder so it’s a little easier to see against my feature photograph?
