Customizing Reviews in [cusrev_reviews]

Yes, if you want to customize the reviews section and display it with the cusrev shortcode, you can customize the comment template file. In your case, I think no need to create a custom template file. To turn off the avatars, please go to the admin area > Settings > Discussion > Disable the option “Show Avatars”. To change the review text color, you can use the custom CSS code.

I don’t see “admin area > Settings > Discussion”

Nor do I see an area to add CSS.

Are these only in the paid version?

Regarding the area to add CSS, you can go to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS, to add the code.
