    Hello,
In my WordPress blog, I use the mobile version offered by Jetpack and I am very satisfied about that. Unfortunately, since I have to customize some tags in my original CSS, this brings some display problems in the mobile version of my blog. Indeed, since I use the <h4> tag for the expression of titles above my paragraphs, my paragraph titles are unfortunately displayed contiguously with the text in the mobile version.

In conclusion, do you know a trick to customize the appearance of the tag “h4” in the mobile version offered by Jetpack?

    Thank you

    Hi there,

You don’t really need the mobile theme. The Jetpack mobile theme is intended to use with older themes that aren’t themselves mobile responsive. But it looks like you’re using the Lucid theme by Elegant Themes, and that theme is designed to be responsive, so it should work on mobile devices right out of the box. If something isn’t working in the mobile version of that theme, best way to get it fixed is to contact support at Elegant Theme directly.

That said, to customize the tag in the mobile theme you will need to modify the mobile theme’s CSS. This used to be possible from the Customizer, but hasn’t worked for several versions of Jetpack, and is not a priority for our team to fix as most people these days use themes that are already responsive, meaning the mobile theme’s usage is very low.

You can track progress on this here: https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/issues/5815

As you’ll see from that issue, one of our developers have created a little plugin that should help, though. You can download it from https://github.com/jeherve/jetpack-addons/archive/mobile-custom-css.zip

I tried it out on a test site and it appears to still work with the mobile theme, so if you’re sticking with the mobile theme, that’s the best option for now.
