I’m looking to heavily customize the appearance of my galleries to match my site’s branding. This includes changing the hover effects, borders, and font styles for captions.

I’ve tried adding custom CSS, but it doesn’t seem to apply. Is there a specific way to override the default gallery styles without affecting plugin updates?

Great to hear that you’re customizing your gallery to match your site’s branding! You’ll find a variety of options in the Gallery Settings to adjust colors, styles, and layouts directly from the admin panel.

If you need more advanced customization, each gallery has dedicated fields where you can add custom CSS and JavaScript. This allows you to apply additional styling beyond what’s available in the settings.

If your custom CSS isn’t applying, it might be due to caching or specificity issues. Try adding !important to your CSS rules or checking if another theme or plugin is overriding your styles. Also, ensure that your custom styles are placed in the gallery’s Custom CSS field or added to your theme’s Additional CSS section in the WordPress Customizer.
