I want to customize the css to make the store’s appearance fit my site better. However, many of the resources I’ve found online are for earlier versions of WooCommerce (WC), including a plethora from back in 2014 and early 2015. Since I’ve never used WC, and when I downloaded the plugin, it was 2.5.4 (just updated to 2.5.5 today), these sources aren’t as informative for me as they might be for others.

Quite a few mentioned “Styles and scripts” under WooCommerce > General in the WordPress dashboard, but it seems 2.5 doesn’t have that option. Others talked about various scripts, moving files, etc. So, to get to the point, here are my two questions:

    1. When I copy WC files in order to customize them, WooThemes says to put them in the theme’s directory (e.g., https://docs.woothemes.com/document/fix-outdated-templates-woocommerce/). However, isn’t it better to put them in the child theme’s directory instead?

    2. Is there an updated guide for how to alter the CSS for WC 2.5+ since so many sources online apply more to earlier versions?
