Customizing Alert Error Messages on Form

I made changes to our website form. There are some issues with the form, but it’s functional. When people submit their information an error message will pop up. While we fix these issues I would like to edit the error message. Can someone point me to the right file/location to update the error message? I found this in the “main.js” $contactForm.append(‘<div class=”alert alert–loading”>Error try again</div>’); But then I change the wording it does not reflect that on the site. There must be another location that I need to update. Please help, thanks.
