Customizer quit loading after WPPA+ update

This has been identified as a capacity issue with respect to the number of existing albums.
I am working on a solution.
A test version will be available within a few days max.

Please read this ducumentation page and install the current dev version as explained there. You will also read how to recover in case of problems.

Pls Let me know if it works. There may be some locaions where you can no longer enter an album number. This is to be fixed later. For the time being, i would like to know if the issue is fixed.

The adding of widgets now works as expected via appearance>>customize.

I added the wppa search and Album navigator to the bottom of the page. The album navigator was causing script timeouts (presumably because of the number of Albums I have) so I took the navigator back out.

Now, with wppa search and lasten widgets in the page load is normal, and the search returns results reasonably quickly.

The lasten widget shows “There are no uploaded photos (yet)”, but I’m guessing the installation of the beta version lost that, and the maintenance cron will populate that info shortly.

I’ll leave all the monitoring and debug logging on my site, is there anything specific you’d like tested?

@letakmartin Please note that you should set Table IX-B6.3: Photo admin max albums to a value small enough, not being --- off ---

@jagwaugh Thanx for your feedback. There are over 25 code locations where one should be able to select one or more albums. I have to revisit all those locations and take appropriate action. So, if you find any unwanted behaviour – like you reported some above – please report it; it will help me to quickly fix it.
I already noticed that one can no longer change album parent (when the amount of albums is ‘large’, ‘large’ as being defind as larger than the setting in Table IX-B6.3: Photo admin max albums

The WPPA+ Shortcode Generator just shows blank when I try to use it when editing a page (existing or new), console shows the error:

“HTTP500: SERVER ERROR – The server encountered an unexpected condition that prevented it from fulfilling the request.
(XHR)GET – https://clone-www.jag-lovers.com/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=wppa&wppa-action=tinymcedialog”

The lasten widget shows “There are no uploaded photos (yet)”

This isbecause you did not upload suring the last week and you limit the lasten display to a week in Table IX-D1.2
I changed it to a month and now it shows 10 photos, 3 weeks old.

All reported issues are fixed.
One can change album parent, move/copy photos to other albums.
The album navigator widget will no onger hang the system but print: ‘There are too many albums in the system for this widget’.

There may still be limiations in functionality, if you find some that need to be fixed, pls tell me.

The shortcode generator works as expected.

Searches seem to be a lot faster.

It seems there are no more crashes. 6.7.07 has been released. Closed this topic.
If still issues, please open new thread and indicate that ‘wppa has many albums’ applies if it is related to this topic.
