Have offered to help a friend re-theme her WordPress-based site thescarlitbox.co.za.

Tried out the Gateway theme on a personal site of mine (52lives.wordpress.com) to make sure it was suitable – it was – and so we activated it.

However, as I tried to customize, I realised I was missing a number of the Customizer options – but most notably, the ability to specify a Featured Content tag.

    Screenshot 1 (my site): https://52lives.files.wordpress.com/2015/10/screenshot-1.jpg

    Screenshot 2: (thescarlitbox.co.za):

In addition, I’m only now (on thescarlitbox.co.za) being offered an option to upgrade to “Gateway Plus” – where on my other account, I’m not being prompted to do so.

Please help – am at my wit’s end!

The first screenshot is on wordpress.com and the second screenshot is a self hosted www.remarpro.com site.

The .com version of WordPress isn’t the same as the self-hosted (.org) version.

So if you want to setup your friend’s site, you should do so on a self-hosted version of WordPress as they have.

    Thanks for the clarification!

I am currently working on her self-hosted version – is there a way to bring across the Featured Content functionality to the .org version?

To assign your featured posts to the home page, navigate to:

Appearance > Customize> Theme Options > Home > Select “Home Posts Category”

You should assign a category to the posts you’d like to feature.

Documentation for the theme is available below:

If you haven’t setup the home page template yet, check this one out:

Thanks so much – actually found a plugin to add categories to my pages and it has the same effect.

    Have a great day!

Sweet! Feel free to open up a new thread if you have any other questions. ??

Hi! I’m having a very similar issue, except that I’d like to feature Pages on my homepage, instead of Posts. I can’t figure out how to add tags to Pages. Hopefully this functionality exists?

    I’m using Gateway Plus on a self-hosted www.remarpro.com site.

    Thanks for your help!
