I’m having issues with my customizer for my theme and want some advice on how I can troubleshoot the problem or work around it. When I try to access my customizer, I get the following error message: “Something went wrong. This changeset cannot be further modified.” From the research I’ve done so far, this should only display if there’s a scheduled change pending. I haven’t scheduled any upcoming changes, and don’t know how to check if one has been created by mistake. What’s more, when I click Customize New Changes it allows me to publish the changes but they are not reflected on the website. I’ve made a backup of my custom CSS that I’ve generated through the Customizer in case the next steps involve deleting and remaking the existing file, but at the moment I’m a bit stumped. What are the things I should investigate to identify and resolve this problem, and resume customization?

This problem may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to deactivate all plugins and switch to the Twenty Twenty theme. If the problem goes away, re-activate them one by one to identify the source of the problem.

If you can install plugins, install Health Check. On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to deactivate all plugins and change the theme for you while you’re still logged in without affecting normal visitors to your site.

Health Check sounds like an amazing plugin, I’ll definitely install it. For the time being it looks like the problem has gone away all on its own, so I’m hoping it’s just a GoDaddy glitch or something. In the meantime I’ll be sure to add Health Check to the website so that in the future I have an easier time diagnosing issues. Thanks a ton!
