    Hi all,

I’ve encounter myself with the little problem woocomerce product category landing pages are not customizable at all.

I need to be able to create content on those pages, before the filter with the products, so I can insert a quality content with gutembert editor.

There must be a free plugin that allow it (I’ve search on google but found nothing), or even a way to create a “normal” page in with I manualy insert the woocommerce product list, and then replace category product page with this “manual” page. In fact, I’ve found a way to do this, but requires using 301 redirections, and I don’t like it at all.

Can anyone lend me a hand?

    Many thanks in advance

You can manually make a product page using blocks.

Using the “Feature Category” product block would allow you to insert the products from a specific category into a page. This way you could make whatever custom page you wanted, then add the block to it.

Otherwise you’ll need to look into a page builder plugin or other custom code.

    Hi Phil,

Thanks for your reply. The problem with this approach is the landing will have a different url than the automatically created with Woocommerce, so the link in all the product with this category will point to the other page.

That’s correct, a manually created page would not follow the default permalink structure for the WooCommerce shop pages.

You could make all of your “shop” related pages custom mage block-based pages like this.

Otherwise, you’ll need to customize your pages using something like a page builder as I mentioned above, or custom code to replace the default page templates for WooCommerce in your theme.

Hi again, Phil, and many thanks for your interest and help.

I’ve found a way to solve the problem of the URL’s and now I could replace standard categories pages with “normal” pages.

My problem now is I don’t know how to emulate the appearance and behaviour of the categories pages on a standard page. To be clear, I can insert the customized part on them and make it be a landing with valuable content and SEO oriented, but I don’t know how to make it have the grid products and filter options.

I’ve add with Guteberg or Elementor a block that makes the page have the products grid, but I’m unable to add the widget with the filtering options.

how can I add the filter in a way that below the content of the “normal page” I can have the same behaviur of the categories URL??

    Thanks again.

I’ve add with Guteberg or Elementor a block that makes the page have the products grid, but I’m unable to add the widget with the filtering options.

This would all vary, based on your theme and what you are seeing as the “default” view as your theme may already be changing what the default page layout for WooCommerce is. Your ability to add widgets to a page is also determined by your theme.

I’m sorry I can’t be more help with that. I’d suggest working with either your theme’s developer or the developer of the page builder plugin you are using.

If you’d like to hire a developer/designer to customize your site, I would recommend checking places like https://www.codeable.io

Sorry!! I finally bought this plugin:

    https://searchandfilter.com/

I use this on a “normal” page and redirect the category pages to the ones I created
