Customize User Role Settings

  • I want to setup a user role (profile type) that allows a user to edit existing pages, but not create new pages. How can I do this?

    I’ve tried using the ‘Editor’ role, but it allows creation of new pages, and the ‘Author’ role allows neither … is there basically a way of having something in-between? or a plug-in that will allow more control over user role settings?

  • There is a plugin called Role Manager (search) – although I don’t remember if that makes possible what you are after…

    Very handy plugin … seems you are right about this particular setting though. I wonder if their support is worth asking though …

    It should allow you to create en entirely new role, or to add/remove the appropriate capabilities from specific users.

    hi there,

    i have an author account and i want to align an image in my post. when i add the code class=”left” , the editor simply deletes this code. how can i allow an author to do this simple thing?

    one more question, is there a page in this forum where i can view all my posts together and find out if there is any answer on my question?
