    Hi,

at the moment the PayPal button on my cart-page looks like this:

    see https://imgur.com/pMgpBWV

As the user is directly forwarded to PayPal I would like the text to be “Direkt zu PayPal” instead of just “PayPal”. So the button should be like this:

Is there a way to customise the text on the button?

    Thank you!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @eselmarvin,

For every button configuration in the plugin there is a “Button Label” setting: https://woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-paypal-payments/#button-on-checkout
You can see them here: https://developer.paypal.com/docs/regional/th/checkout/integration-features/customize-button/#link-label

As far as I am aware, PayPal recommends the “buy now” label for the German market, which will display as “Jetzt kaufen” for German buyers.
But since these buttons are coming from PayPal, inserting custom text is not an option, and the “Direkt zu” label is also not available with these smart buttons.

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

    Hi Niklas,

thanks for your reply. I have set the button label to “PayPal buy now” but there is still the default button show on my website.

    Kind Regards

    Hi Niklas,

it was my mistake. I changed the setting for the checkout instead of the cart.
For now I can live with “Jetzt kaufen” instead of “Direkt zu PayPal” in the button.

What still bothers me a little bit is, that in Firefox the text on the button and the tagline are in English:

English text on button an tagline, only in Firefox

It would be great if this could be fixed in the future.

    Thanks again!

    Kind Regards

    Hi @eselmarvin,

The button language is decided by PayPal on a per-user basis and depends on multiple factors, like for example, PayPal cookies in the browser or browser language configuration. The button labels on your site are translated for me in Firefox (which is configured in German):

On the other hand, my Chrome browser is set to English and also has cookies from US PayPal account, so I’m seeing English labels with that browser.
The buttons adapt to the needs of the user, and this currently cannot be controlled directly through the plugin.
But we’re looking into eventually providing a setting that allows you to override the language. I suggest leaving feedback on the GitHub issue if interested in this feature.

    Kind regards,
    Niklas
