When a button is created, it provides you with the shortcode. Is there anyway to customize the shortcode, for example possibly leaving the “purpose / name” empty in the button details, but adding it somehow within the actual shortcode. I’m researching PayPal plugins for a specific need and so far I really like this plugin.

    Hi @mwgideon,

This is not a feature of the plugin right now.

Can you give an example of how this would be useful? I don’t mind adding this feature to the plugin if ~15%+ of the people that use this plugin would use it.

    Thanks,
    Scott

Thanks for the response, it may or may not be something other’s would use. In my case – I am developing a website where they accept donations for surgery and general needs sponsorships for children with special needs. Each child has their own dedicated page, which would have the PayPal link on. They have quite a few children and rather then creating a separate button for each, I could have it populate the shortcode with the children’s name automatically using a PHP format of the shortcode. This way when it takes them to Paypal the purpose or name is something like – “Surgery – James”

Hope that gives a general idea.. Again – may not be useful for others, just thought I would ask the question.

    Hi @mwgideon,

That seems like a really good cause so I just added this is a feature.

You can now add name=” to the shortcode and it will override any name set in the button manager area.

    Thanks,
    Scott
