customize product-category page

  • Hi,
    I would like to customize the product-category page. As I have little products per category it is no problem to create a custom page with the default template page and call it “category-myproduct”.
    I could link to these pages in my menu.
    But now I would like the automatic generated product-category pages to redirect to this custom page (to redirect breadcrumbs, f.e.). Can I do this with a 301 redirect in .htaccess?
    Or will this mess up things. (besides from it being not very elegant ??
