Customize Page Doesn't Load Properly after Clone

    Hi,

    I have an odd issue. After cloning a site with duplicator, the customize page doesn’t load up all the way for the theme “raindrops”. The sidebar with “You are customizing Site Name” and the top menu with “Basic Config” & “Preview Width” show up but none of the site options nor the preview page load. I just get a spinning wheel where the page preview should be.

    I’ve tried installing this theme fresh on a completely separate original site and on a site that was previously cloned by duplicator and the customize page for this theme only fails on the duplicated site.

    I should note that on top of disabling all plugins, I’ve also tried switching to other themes and those themes’ customize/preview pages load fine so it appears to be only isolated to this theme in particular.

    I’ve been working with the raindrops theme author but thought maybe you’d have some insight into this issue.

    Did you have any warning or errors on the last stage of the installer, sometime this will have clues to help the theme authors isolate the issue…

    There were no errors or warnings during either cloning process. The site seems to work fine and all of the permalinks are good so not sure why this issue is popping up.

    You may want to contact the theme author, I’m not sure what the issue might be…

    I have been in contact with the theme author and he doesn’t know why this issue is happening.

    The only think I can think of is to try and re-save the theme settings, some how the data that is being written from the theme is not being stored correctly.

    The author of the theme should be able to do a compare on the duplicated theme settings data against the data settings of the one that works. They will however need access to both of your system. I would send them the theme settings before and after duplication to see if they can pin-point the issue…

    I figured out how to turn on debugging in wordpress and found there was a fatal error with one of the themes PHP scripts. I sent the error to the author and he provided a patch which fixes the issue. Thanks for your response.
