customize map finish button not working

i have downloaded and installed the latest version from admin panel and directly from plugin site in zip file. both indicate 1.6.1 once installed but latest zip shows as 1.6.2 and release notes shows tag of 1.6.2. this is confusing.
problem i am having is that i cannot finish the choose a place process.
when i click add, then at the Widget Nokia Maps & Places window, click “Choose a place”. i can enter an address, select the place, but the Finish button will not work. this appears consistent across all browsers attempted.
