Customize is not working

  • Hi,

    When I activate a new theme in WordPress and I want to go to customize, the page is not loading. I only get a grey screen with on the left side: you are changing …., and options for devices.
    Can anyone help me out?

  • Could be one of a few things:

    1) Outdated version of php compared to what the theme requires (to fix this you will need to contact your hosting provider to update the php version for you)
    2) Generally sub-par and/or shared server that is currently low on resources (customizer is quite heave to load for some themes because they put all their settings in there)
    3) outdated version of your browser
    4) bad browser cookie for your site (to fix this you will need to clear your cookies)
    5) plugin conflict with your theme (to fix this you will need to deactivate all plugins and reactivate them one by one until you find the one causing the issue)

    Your theme requires a higher version of PHP. Please contact with your hosting provider. They will guide you how can you change the php version from cpanel.
