Customize background color?

I’d like to be able to customize the background color. Previously I used to do this my adding an action for admin_head and outputting CSS directly to the page. This will still output but seems to be getting overridden by your CSS when when the class path is the same and it’s marked with !important.

Any idea how I can do this?
