Customize additional pages and thumbnails

    Hi,
    Please tell me how to customize the thumbnails in the posts like on the template sample. The page I am referring to is here:

    Additional pages have a huge header area with only the title at the bottom. This uses a lot of real estate, and I cannot customize the background. I would like to make the area smaller, if possible, or at least have a custom color or graphic.
