Customizations deleted on signup

  • I’ve used this plugin for a long time. The UI changes are mostly okay, but it takes considerably longer to set up now. I spent 15 minutes setting up my client’s cookie bar and then saw I needed to sign up for a free account to get the cookie scan. I did so – and all my customizations were lost. I then had to spend another 15 minutes doing it all over again.

    It’s not as easy to set up as before. Having to login to an app to manage a client’s cookie info is an extra step, and copying the content for the cookie policy didn’t work, I had to manually get the button and link codes and add them. This is definitely no longer a plugin my clients would be able to edit themselves. Will be looking for an alternative.

    I also don’t see how to customize the link colors on the Customize Consent Preferences popup.

    First of all, we want to apologise for not getting back to you as quickly as possible.?

    We have released a new plugin for new website users with the goal of adding more functionality and making it easier for our users. We are disappointed to learn that your experience was different, though. Let me respond to your questions. Even with our legacy plugin, a connection to CookieYes is required in order to use the cookie scanner. You can connect the plugin with the web app using the same login information as before.

    ? Before connecting to the web app, the plugin will prompt you to choose which configuration you want to keep: the plugin’s or the web app’s configuration. Your decision will determine how the dashboard appears. We assume that you selected web app settings and that the plugin’s configuration was lost as a result. What you experienced all sounds awful. That wasn’t supposed to happen.

    With our web app, you can configure the plugin without constantly logging into WordPress as an admin. And it is undoubtedly a benefit peculiar to such customer.

    The plugin does not include a generator for cookie and privacy policies. You may set it up for free by clicking on the links in the plugin and copying the text or code to the website you need. Please start a new thread in our support forum if you need assistance with this in any way. We would be happy to assist you.

    The free edition does not have the ability to alter the link’s colour in the preference centre. You can apply custom CSS through the web app dashboard if you decide to upgrade to any other plan.

    We value the time you took to provide us with feedback so we can keep improving. Without the help and useful advice of our users, we would not have come as far as we have. As a result, we are concerned about our user’s experience with us and want to discover how we can continue to develop further.

    Two months for a reply is another reason for moving to a different cookie plugin.
