However, in both of these, the number of columns is dependent on the theme’s page content width and the device screen size of the device the page is being viewed. So, the number of columns could range from 1 on mobile to n on a desktop where n could be any number which is entirely dependent on the theme.

I am sorry but I am not sure I understand the question, but I will try my best to answer it.
Subscriber roles should not have access to the WP admin or the Connections admin pages. Similarly to how a subscriber should not have access to the admin WordPress Pages and Posts.
To search the directory, both of the template includes a category filter and keyword search feature where your site visitors can search the directory on the site’s front-end.
