Customising the Comments page.

One thing I’m interested in doing is actually generating comment numbers which are linkable. Currently, they seem to be generated as a numbered list in the default template. Has anyone done away with the list and just incremented the number?

I’ve tidied the page up, removed 2 small (but vital) typos, added the page jumps from the top, and checked it validates.

The comment tutorial was very helpful…although I ended up doing it a completely different way. Also, I was surprised to find out there already is a way to link individual comments. ??
Soon, if I can learn some PHP I might still add an increment count to the posts. At first glimpse it looks like it can be easily done since the comment loop, “foreach”, is already tested in an “if” statement (where a start value can be initialized). Time will tell…I still have a lot of work to do with my site.

The point of the tutorials is less “Do it this way” and much much more “Look what you can do !”
CSS can be confusing, and yet if you want to really customise your weblog, it is something that you need to get to grips with – hence the little walkthroughs.
They aren’t perfect, but I hope they are useful.
I can’t think of any other areas of the CSS that consistently crop up here for which I could do another section, but if there is something, then let me know and I’ll start on it ??
