Customising standard templates

  • Hi

    I’m pretty new to this but keen to learn! I’ve used the standard word press template for my blog but would like to customise this to include links back to my site and a contact form.

    Could someone let me know how this is best achieved and if there is any step by step advice to walk me through how to do this.

    To add links as a new user, try using either a Text widget if you can code a link, or else use the builtin WP links system (Admin left col Links) and then display using the Links widget,

    To get to widgets: left col menu Appearance, Widgets.

    For a contact form try installing the Contact Form 7 plugin. go to Left col icon Plugins, and then search for a new one – you can install through the WP interface. Activate and configure.
