Customising bespoke pages
-
Hi folks,
I have been digging around all things ‘wordpress’ but I am new to this so I’m not sure what I’m looking for. (Not much help really :p)
My project is to create a course website using WP (client requested this), which I have finished my wireframes of the rough layout. I have a defined header, footer, and side navigation area which I assume would be covered by header.php, sidenav.php etc.
Although most of the sections have lots of sub pages e.g. Programmes has:week 1, week 2, week 3 and each week has several lesson pages. Students has: current students and past students etc…
Some sections will have an area to post and comment while others are just information based. So there will be several templates of pages with different content on.
How would I inside the ‘content’ area would I code all these types of pages, would I need to setup pages like: programme.php, lesson.php, aboutus.php etc?
I have some books & viewed video tutorials customising a blog template, but they don’t really expand on ‘how to create new different pages to the site’ just how to customise a blog page. Is this achievable?
I would greatly appreciate any help, tips, pointers on this, thank you!
