• Hi everyone. I am getting the issue thats been mentioned here before. When I try to customise a theme (change colours et) after I click Publish I get the ?“Looks like something’s gone wrong. Wait a couple seconds, and then try again.”

Now, This is a complete new install of wordpress latest version. NOTHING has been added except a new theme, no plugins or anything. I’ve also reinstalled WordPress 4 times, using MariaDB and MySQL. Still Get the error. I’ve also tried 4 different themes, all from www.remarpro.com.

I have a client that’s waiting and this is getting pretty ridiculous.

Any help in this would be appreciated.

    Thanks In Advance

  • First change the theme to a standard theme, preferably the last classic one called TwentyTwentyOne. Can you save it in the Customizer without any problems? If so, it was due to the theme you installed.

If that doesn’t work either, you should check the error log on the server to see what specific error is occurring. This should help you find the cause.

    Hi @robb1e,

Thanks for reaching out. Appreciate if you can share the website link or screenshot of the error so that we can look in to it in detail.
Meanwhile you can check your browser’s developer console to check if there is any JavaScript issues which causes the error.

threadi, when using a default theme like twenty-twenty Four, the customiser is different, like it is a completely different setup. There is very little to edit in it but it does ‘seem’ to change.

Ashly, Should there be any issues from a 100% clean install with absolutely nothing added to wordpress apart from a theme? (4 different ones at that). A screenshot can be viewed here https://gsmedinburgh.co.uk/screenshot.jpg

With modern FSE themes such as TwentyTwentyFour, you no longer have a customizer available. Since you want to use a classic theme and call up the Customizer, I would recommend testing it again with TwentyTwentyOne. This is the last classic theme with Customizer.
