• Hi, I was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to offer me design comments on my site.

I have a few bugs, but I’m working on them still (in particular making the right sidebar stay on the page on short pages… CSS float issues)

Also, it looks much prettier in Firefox than IE (but doesn’t everything? ?? )

  • I like how the middle is fluid and the columns are more rigid. It works at a range of widths, but it does break on super-narrow, where the right column overlaps the center. Your n-line logo on the homepage looks kinda pixely/blurry, not sure – it needs work. To be honest I’m not a fan of the logo especially the yellow-orange handwriting font part of it. Also I see a similar yelloworange? color at the side of quotes in your posts, to me that color doesn’t work with your blues. Orange is a complement of blue, but this particular color is too… mustardy. On a more positive observation — You have something different I haven’t seen before — the way your left sidebar navagation links stay BOLD on the links I have visited. I guess normally nav menus return to normal state after clicking, yours indicate they’ve been viewed – interesting. Good luck with your site!

I’ve now adopted a more standard wordpress style based on 3K2, but customised.

What is that slider at the top for post navigation? Is that a plugin?

It’s integrated into 3K2 as standard but it also come as a plugin. It’s called rolling archives and it makes use of AJAX and is rather nice (although watch the large filesize from the JS code – something I still need to resolve on my pages).

A quick google search should find the downlaod link.
