Customised Home Page

  • Hi,

    How do I create a home page that only displays the last 3 posts in:

    1.) 3 Columns
    2.) Just their Thumbnail and Title

    If there are any plugins or addon’s or really simple ways to do that, it would be much appreciated.

    This might work — though you’d have to customize it some. Looks like it could be done with this as a starting point.

    Does the theme have a home.php file?

    Thanks WPyogi. That theme looks very similar to what I would like.

    The problem is that I bought a theme from Template Monster. Although the screenshots “looked” like it supported columns it did not.

    To try and get some value out of my money, I’d like to manually add support into that theme.

    Do you think you might be able to link me to a custom CSS style sheet or loop code to support that? I’ve done some googling and although there are a few articles our there, I can’t seem to make them work.

    @0xDEAD1 No, it doesn’t but I can make a home.php file if needed.

    These forums don’t support commercial (paid) themes, and there is no such thing as a stylesheet or loop code that will automatically fix any theme that is missing something. If you are highly motivated, you can learn how to modify the theme you bought — IF the license allows that. (IF it’s not a GPL, that’s an even bigger problem here…) Paid themes generally have their own support forums — or should.

    But frankly, whatever you spent on the theme is a sunk cost, and you’d be much better off using a theme from here and thus being able to get help on the forums.
