• Hi

I am looking to retheme my website – a static photography site which contains a few projects as well as a home page and a contact page – its very basic but I wanted something more modern looking. Currently I am using a horizontal Navbar and verticle scrolling for images. I would prefer a vertical Navbar on the left, with image sliders so there is no scrolling needed.

I’ve had a look at the current themes and Twenty Fifteen looks like its close to what I want, but it needs a few tweaks, I wondered if somebody can help me out with creating a child?

Firstly I would like to get rid of the grey background (assuming I can just colour it white)

Then I would like to adjust the content so that it fills that grey space

And then, if possible, reduce the size of the Navbar and give more space over to the content

Any help would be much appreciated
