Customers are subscribed even if they don’t want to

    Hello,

    As you know, the MailChimp plugin puts a “subscribe to our newsletter” checkbox on the checkout page. This is a great feature, but I’ve noticed that my customers are being subscribed to the newsletter even when the checkbox is unchecked. In fact, it’s unchecked by default (Mailchimp Settings -> List Settings -> Opt-in Settings -> Visible, unchecked by default). I’ve done a few test orders and I was automatically subscribed every time even though the checkbox was always unchecked.

    Update: the issue was solved with yesterday’s update.

    Hi there,
    I still have the same issue. I use GDPR Checkbox-Fields (as I am located in Europe, I have to). Even when new customers do not OptIn to receive the newsletter, they are subscribed to my list.
    I use version 2.1.11.
    The GDRP-Field is properly synced to MailChimp but still everybody is subscribed to my list, regardless of their GDPR-Status.
