Customer levels and specific acess

I’m hoping this is possible. I want to set up a site where anyone can see and purchase products…we’ll call this a ‘retail’ level. So if/when a customer registers, they by default become a ‘retail’ type of customer…they see retail products and retail pricing. This part I got down.

The other thing I want is a ‘wholesaler’ customer type that has access to products that are for their eyes only….when a new wholesaler comes to the site, they register for an account just like anyone else but we will manually determine that they are a ‘wholesale’ level customer. Once we approve their wholesale level status, they will be able to login to their account and then be immediately taken to the products page that show wholesale products/pricing.

If a customer is not approved as a wholesale level customer, they will never see a wholesale product or price. If a customer is approved as a wholesale level customer, they will ONLY see wholesale categoried products…is this possible…could it be that it’s super simple and I’m overthinking it?
