    Hi

We have received emails on quotes for customers, the problem is that the sales department don’t have access to the Dashboard. How do I include the client’s contact details (email and phone number) on the quote email?

    Thanks

  • You can modify the template, but ultimately your sales team needs access. They would need access to finalize the quote anyway. Get a role plugin to limit their access to quotes and sales.

Thanks for your reply. Our Sales team don’t use WordPress at all – they use FileMaker to process orders.

    Hi @jocelynll,

As @bigaltheking mentioned it is possible to modify the email templates by customizing them.

These email templates can be customized the same as any of the WooCommerce email templates.

Please copy the email template using the WooCommerce->Settings->Emails->Send Quote->Copy file to theme button into your theme folder. Once done, you can customize the email template as desired.

Updating the plugin to future versions will ensure that the customized copy is not overwritten.

However, the quote emails can be sent to the end users by accessing the WooCommerce->Edit Order page. The item prices can be modified as needed. Once you click on the Quote Complete button, the item prices are frozen and cannot be modified further. The email can then sent to the end users by using the Send Quote button.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi – me again!

    Yes it does help.

The only issue that I have is that I am editing the email templates on a test site. How do I change the ‘request a quote’ button at checkout to point to the test site and not the live?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi @jocelynll,

The ‘Request a Quote’ button is the ‘Place Order’ button which has been renamed to meet the plugin requirements.

When the button is created, WooCommerce creates an order on the site and processes the same. I understand that you want the order to be created on the test site and not the live site, so you can test the customized email.

The best approach here would be to install the plugin on your test site, edit email templates as desired. Test by placing test orders and once things are working fine, simply copy the email templates to your production site.

    Thanks Pinal

    I’ll give it a go. ??

    Hi Guys

To add the customer contact details into the request quote email what code do I need to use to achieve this?

    Regards

    Hi @jcmbanx,

I believe you need to add the custom details in the email sent to the admin. I’ve sent you the details on how to customize the email template in the other support request.

    https://github.com/pinalj/quotes-for-woocommerce/commits/fixes-1.6.3

Above is the link to the plugin copy which contains the code to replace some customer data related merge tags with real-time data.

Please try to use this plugin copy and use the merge tags. I’ve not tested it, but I think it should help achieve the desired results.
